New Venue

Following the unfortunate closure of the RAFA club in Northampton, the group now meets in the Old Swan at Earls Barton, every third Wednesday of the month.

Northampton Science Fiction Writers Group

The Northampton Science Fiction Writers Group was founded in 2002 to enable would-be writers of science fiction, fantasy, dark fantasy and horror to learn their trade and hone their skills. Central to this has been the experience and knowledge of established author Ian Watson, though the group is by no means limited to a single voice. Good, honest critiquing is not necessarily kind critiquing, but it should always be constructive. This remains a central tenent of the NSFWG. Over the years, the group has enjoyed considerable publishing success, including seeing stories from no fewer than 4 of our members appear in the science journal Nature, coincidentally the publication in which a son of Northampton, Francis Crick, co-authored a paper which first revealed the structure of DNA.

The group meets on the third Wednesday of each month, with membership strictly limited to 12 people at all times.
